Description: Jerry Lewis resides at a rescue in Arkansas.
My name is Jerry Lewis. Pretty cool name wouldn't you agree! I am a male dog estimated to be 7-8 months old as of May 2019 and a Heeler mix, perhaps with a little bit of Setter. I currently weigh 60 pounds.
I'd like to tell you my story. I, along with another dog (Dean Martin - thought to be my littermate), were found living under a truck on a rural gravel road. I don't know if we ran away from a home or if we were dumped :( I think we were dumped because the nice people here tried to find my family but no one came forward.
Two of the people from the rescue came and rescued us. I was so scared and I hid, but they eventually coaxed me out and I arrived at the rescue. It took me a good week before I would allow them to handle me.
But, now I love everybody! I love attention from the volunteers, especially when I get tummy rubs. I have learned how to walk on a leash. The first dozen times they put a leash on me I fought it. I did not like it, but now I love going for walks.
I get along with other dogs and it is nice here but I really want a family that I can call my own. I sure hope that it with you.
