MESSAGE FROM THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there are no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, ”I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."

God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."

"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."

Fred
Fred crossed the bridge March 29th. Fred was able to have a wonderful life with Jason and Holly. Jason took Fred on a cross country adventure and had a blast. Jason went to college and Fred was being cared for by his uncle. Do to the snow Fred was able to get out of the yard and was killed. REST IN PEACE OUR FRED.

Woot
Woot was such a young boy and never really got a chance to live. Woot was rescued several weeks ago from a shelter in Kentucky and sent to Memphis but on the way he developed a respiratory issue and was hospitalized. After his week at the vet he went into foster before coming here. He seemed to be healed and was playing and acting like a 5 month old but all of a sudden he lay down and went to the Rainbow Bridge. What a sad day it is. We will all miss Woot and his antics….

Ginger
Dear Sherry, I have very sad news. This morning Ginger (Sissy, when we adopted her) was sustained major injuries from being hit by a car and we had her put to sleep. The vet thinks she broke her back and had no hope of recovery. Although we had an invisible fence, and she was very good about staying in our yard, she saw a fox across the street and tore after it. The driver saw the fox, and saw Ginger too late. My son was the only one home at the time, and he is very upset. I raced home and took her to the vet, with the help of the police. The doctor there could tell immediately that she did not have long to live. The staff there loved Ginger, and they miss her too. She had a nice life with us (see the attached picture). Just this morning she found a bone on our morning walk. She loved to chew bones. I used to tease her by trying to take the bone away, which always made her growl and chase me away. I never tried too hard to get the bone. She enjoyed the game, even though it was very predictable. Thank you for helping us find her, and letting her become a part of our lives. James

Nemo
What a sweet boy. Nemo will be missed. Nemo spent most of his short life in a shelter. He was rescued from the shelter with the help of a very nice lady from Washington DC. Nemo stayed with us at the rescue until a foster home had an opening. A month ago he was sent to a foster family that had an opening. He was enjoying his time playing with the kids and the other dogs. He really enjoyed his time with the foster family and us at the rescue. Sadly Nemo escaped out of the fenced in yard chasing a rabbit and was hit by a car.

Cotton
Carolyn wrote, I had Cotton from 3 months until 14 years old. She was super smart and well behaved. She was my constant companion, always by my side. She slept at the foot of the bed, or toward the end if a storm came she slept between me and my husband. I joked about getting the kids to sleep through them and then she would get scared. I would stay up through the storm just to comfort her. She camped with us every year and provided security when my husband was away. You could sleep through the night without a worry unless she barked, which was only when necessary. She stole my heart and Cotton will always have a piece of it. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her and miss her. Even being deaf and blind in one eye she always greeted me when I got home, I still look for her daily. She was kind and gentle and always comforted me on a sad day, she gave more to me than I can put into words. She raised my children and thought of them as her own. She never snapped or growled at the kids, even when they were little and climbed on her or pulled her hair trying to walk. She was my little girl and will be forever! Hope this helps... And thank you! It was the first time I looked at her picture today, and still got teary eyed.....Have a great day! Carolyn
